New launches in two states
Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) has launched an online sportsbook in Virginia, as well as an online casino and sportsbook in West Virginia. The sportsbooks are utilizing the Scientific Games OpenBet technology. GNOG will also avail of the integration of a total risk and liability management offering from Don Best Sports.
For the online casino in West Virginia, the OpenGaming content aggregation platform has been deployed. This means that players will get access to games created by in-house studios at Scientific Games, as well as titles from some of the best third-party game developers in the sector. This platform will also have other types of complementary features and a range of responsible gambling tools.
The continuation of a good relationship
GNOG is also broadening its partnership in New Jersey with Scientific Games, introducing OpenBet technology to the retail sports betting operations at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City Hotel & Casino over the coming months. Patrons will be able to use self-service betting kiosks at “The Sportsbook.” This comes not long after the relaunch of the GNOG online sportsbook in the Garden State that used the same OpenBet technology.
we know the robust and powerful capabilities that both solutions provide”
GNOG president Thomas Winter spoke about how Golden Nugget’s existing customers have been embracing GNOG’s online offerings. He welcomed the continuing relationship with Scientific Games, saying: “We know the robust and powerful capabilities that both solutions provide and are looking forward to delivering yet more unmissable betting and gaming experiences to even more players across the nation.”
OpenBet chief commercial officer Cathryn Lai spoke about the pride associated with working with “one of the world’s most recognizable brands in the casino space” and she looks forward to working together on future projects.
It was in February 2020 that GNOG extended its long-term partnership with Scientific Games, committing to integrate the OpenSports betting product suite into GNOG’s sportsbooks.
In August, it was announced that DraftKings was acquiring GNOG in a deal worth about $1.56bn. The deal is expected close in Q1 2022. It was one of a number of significant acquisitions in the burgeoning sports betting and iGaming spaces over the past 12 months or so as the sectors continue to consolidate.
